A new law was enacted in France (Law No. 2016-1691 dated 9 December 2016, called “SAPIN 2”, relating to Transparency and Fight against Corruption, and to the Modernization of Economic Life –LOI n° 2016-1691 du 9 décembre 2016 relative à la transparence, à la lutte contre la corruption et à la modernisation de la vie économique).
It was approved by the Constitutional Council by virtue of its Decision No. 2016-741 DC).
This law strengthens the State Immunity from execution in favor of foreign states relating to their assets located in France.
